Harold Ford, Jr. Now Backs Marriage Equality

Like Senator Chuck Schumer and President Bill Clinton before him, former Congressman Harold Ford, Jr. (D-TN) now fully supports gay marriage:
"He supports gay marriage, in the interest of fairness and equality," Ford spokesman Davidson Goldin told The Post.

Ford backed up that statement himself this morning on the "Today Show."

Host Matt Lauer asked, "So you're now in favor of same sex marriage?"

"Civil unions and same-sex marriage, yes," Ford said.
Kudos to the former congressman. Welcome to the party -- even if you are a bit late.

Exit: Taegan Goddard says that this is "a clear sign" that Ford will be running in the New York state Senatorial race. One thing is certain; he is essentially finished with Tennessee.
