Rachel Maddow Hits Scott Brown their home-state of Massachusetts -- Maddow is not kidding around. Mostly.
People in Massachusetts picking up their morning papers today may spot an open letter from Rachel Maddow. The full-page ad explains that she's not running against Republican Sen. Scott Brown in 2012. Brown sent a fundraising letter suggesting that he'd be facing the "liberal MSNBC anchor" and needed donations to fend her off. "I'm sure she's a nice person -- I just don't think America can afford her liberal politics," he wrote.
You can see the full ad here (pdf).

I definitely don't agree with Rachel Maddow on everything -- but I agree with her on this one. Why would Brown, without doing any research whatsoever, claim that Maddow would be running for his seat in the U.S. Senate?

One word: money.

It's clear to me that Brown wants to raise money for re-election -- which is fine. But, to use Rachel Maddow as the liberal-version of the Boogey Man (Boogey Woman?) is simply wrong. If she were planning on running for Senate in Massachusetts, it would be a completely different story. But she's not.

Scott Brown is being dishonest to his supporters. Plain and simple.
