On Dr. Laura

Not literally of course. More of a figurative sense. *shudder*

Maybe you heard about her n-word-laced-screed the other day? The money-shot:
CALLER: How about the N-word? So, the N-word's been thrown around --

SCHLESSINGER: Black guys use it all the time. Turn on HBO, listen to a black comic, and all you hear is nigger, nigger, nigger.

CALLER: I hope everybody heard it.

SCHLESSINGER: They did, and I'll say it again --

CALLER: So what makes it OK for you to say the word?

SCHLESSINGER: -- nigger, nigger, nigger is what you hear on HB --

CALLER: So what makes it --

SCHLESSINGER: Why don't you let me finish a sentence?

Yeah, so the good doctor used the n-word 11 times in her race-rant. If you ask me -- and by reading this post you are doing just that -- that is 11 times too many. Period.

I really like what John Ridley had to say on NPR's Morning Edition:

My bottom line? Dr. Laura is free to say whatever the hell she wants to say. If she wants to go on the air and use the n-word non-stop for the duration of her show, she is free to do so (although I would guess that her PR folks would discourage that).

Nobody is trampling her First Amendment rights by pointing out that her multiple-offense usage of the n-word is completely uncalled for.
