On Obama's Birth Certificate: Birthers Will Never Be Satisfied

So, President Obama decided to respond to the birthers and released his "long-form" birth certificate. Said the President:
We do not have time for this kind of silliness. We've got better stuff to do. I’ve got better stuff to do.
Indeed Mr. President. Indeed.

However, I must say that I think that the President should not have done this.

President Obama has been doing just fine*. No lawsuit or action taken by birthers has held up in a court of law. There is no legal standing for any of this nonsense.

Sure, I agree that the "debate" over this "issue" has taken much of the media focus off of legitimate issues like the federal budget. But caving into the demands of the birthers seems, to me, to be a big sign of weakness.

The ridiculousness of this action aside, I submit to you that the birthers will not be satisfied. WND nutter-in-chief Joseph Farah is still rattling the Birther Sabre:
We look forward to reviewing it like so many other Americans do at this late date. But it is important to remember there are still dozens of other questions concerning this question of eligibility that need to be resolved to assure what has become a very skeptical public concerning Barack Obama’s parentage, his adoption, his citizenship status throughout his life and why he continues to cultivate a culture of secrecy around his life.
Like I said, will not be satisfied.

If the President would have simply let it go -- no matter how loud the chorus of crazies got -- the fickle media machine would have tired of Trump's seemingly relentless birther campaign and moved on to the next thing (the Royal wedding perhaps?).

But, because President Obama has addressed this issue -- again -- it will remain in the news for an additional week or two. Inevitably, the dumb-ass questions will arise: "Is this enough proof?", "What will The Donald say?" and "What about the President's education?"

Which means that Yours Truly will continue to follow this non-story.

My only question is "why?" Why would the President, after all of this time, give in and have the document released?

*I suppose it all depends on your definition of "fine". For clarification, what I meant was that the President has been doing his job without the birthers causing too much havoc. The country was not falling apart because he had not released the "long-form" birth certificate.
