Quotes Of The Day: Pawlenty Clarifies His Remarks

Quote #1:

"The candidates are going to have to be able to demonstrate they can do all of the job, all of the time." -Tim Pawlenty yesterday morning, in what could be viewed as an allusion to the revelation that Congresswoman Michele Bachmann suffers from debilitating migraine headaches.

Quote #2:

"What I said today generically, applying to all candidates, not her, is that anybody who's going to serve as president of the United States, of course, has to be able to do all of the job all of the time, 24/7. That's just common sense. It's not a debatable proposition." -Tim Pawlenty yesterday afternoon on Fox News Channel.

A good recovery by Pawlenty. He still hammers home the point that candidates need to be healthy enough to campaign -- and eventually become President of the United States. But, he maintains that point without sounding like he was being insensitive to Bachmann and her condition.
