Sunday Morning Music

.... on Monday morning. Yesterday was a busy day filled with church-type activities in the morning and community pool lounging in the afternoon. I never got to my weekly music post. So here it is.

You are listening to Tears For Fears' "Everybody Wants To Rule The World" from the band's second album, Songs From The Big Chair.

For me, this is not only the quintessential 80s song, but it also instantly transports me to the beach.

When I was growing up, my family didn't have was too cheap to get cable. So, when we went on our yearly family vacation to Ocean City, New Jersey, I spent any rainy days in front of the television. MTV was still playing music during the 80s, so I experienced a lot of Duran Duran, Glass Tiger and -- you guessed it -- Tears For Fears.

Unfortunately, the family will not be heading to the shore this summer as we are skrimping and saving for a November trip to Walt Disney World. This fact has greatly depressed me and TPW.

But, as I mentioned above, the Pajama Family spent the better part of yesterday at our local community pool. While there, I soaked up the sun and smelled lots of sunscreen -- odors very reminiscent of the beach. Not quite the Jersey shore, but a reasonable facsimile. For now.

Hence my song choice for today.

Enjoy your Sunday Monday.
