Up And Running...

Well, we're back.

Although technically, we never really left, the past three weeks have been mostly quiet on the Pajama Front.

So, in my original post, I told you that things would be quiet around here due to a big event at Behemoth University. Said event went swimmingly and my office hosted nearly 10,000 visitors to campus over a six day period. Dang.

Also of note, my daughter turned 5-years-old on Saturday. Here is a picture of her and her cousin at our (tiny) party:

They grow up so fast...

And finally, I would be remiss if I didn't mention some mini-tweaks to the site. While I was "away", I may not have had much opportunity to write -- BUT, I did have a few minutes to make some minor upgrades to the blog.

Firstly, you'll note the floating 'socialize' box in the left margin. For a while now, I've been toying with the idea of putting a separate box in the margin that would highlight social media. Now you can 'like' The Pajama Pundit on Facebook, 'follow' on Twitter or even +1 on Google+ without having to leave the site. I am hoping that this will increase the amount of 'likes', etc. Oh, and I also added a +1 button at the bottom of each post so that you can share individual posts in Google+ as well (PS: if you aren't on Google plus, send me an e-mail, and I'll hook you up with an invite).

Secondly, and arguably much more subtle, are the rounded corners on the edges, featured content area, and author icons. For comparison, on the left is the old version, on the right, the new one (click each one for a bigger version):

I think it's a pretty nifty design -- and much more professional looking.

So, as the title of the post suggests, we are indeed back up and running.

Lastly, I want to thank Fury and Vast for filling in the gaps while I was busy. In case you missed them, Fury posted here, here and here -- and Vast posted here. Thanks guys!

Now, get back to work!
