The First 45 Years Of Star Trek (Infographic)

Vast bait.

I have a question for all of you Trekkies out there: What is the significance of Star Wars and the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster? Why would the designers of this graphic take the time (and space) to make note of these items?

I understand the significance of Sputnik, Yuri Gagarin and Apollo 11 -- as these were the first attempts at turning science fiction into science fact. And, I suppose that one could argue that the NASA Space Shuttle program is relevant in this line of thinking as well -- but I still don't understand the appearance of Star Wars on this infographic.

Personally, I'm a Star Wars fanboy. But, being the champion of equality that I am, I thought that giving some real estate to our Star Trek brethren would be the nice thing to do.
