From The Mailbag: "Dude, Where Have You Been?"

Dear Reader...

You are not the first person to email me and ask that question. In fact, you are upwards of the 50th (or so).

As you may have noticed, for the most part, I have been absent the site for several months. Since May, actually. Right about the time I celebrated my fifth blogiversary. I know, I know. LAME.

But, the truth is that I've been bored. Bored of the same-old rhetoric. Bored of the same-old campaign ads. Simply put, I've been bored of politics. And, since that has been the primary focus of this website, I really didn't have much to say.

Now, that's not to say that I haven't been busy. Quite the contrary.

In the past several months, I have thrown myself into my career. I have applied for, and received a major promotion at work, which keeps me busy. Because of the promotion and my new-found responsibilities, I have much less time to "goof around" at my desk. Gone are the days of multiple blog-posts in one day because I have finished all of my other work.

I have quickly learned in my new position that my work is never finished.

That said, I really do miss the outlet that this site provides. And, much to my surprise, is still receiving thousands of unique visitors each week.

So, why revive my blogging activity? The answer is two-fold...

1) I miss it. As I mentioned, I miss expressing the digital representation of my voice. I miss interacting with those awesome people who decide to read my ramblings -- whether they agree with me or not. As I've stated before, "I love the spontaneous nature of what I write (this very post, for example) and I don't ever want to silence my political voice." The irony is that I have essentially silenced my political voice for the last few months, and that just plain sucks.

2) WiFi. The Pajama Family is once again online at home. While this may not seem like a big deal, let me assure you that it is. Not only will the kids have more options for at-home educational activities (the Discovery Channel has some awesome games for kids online), but now the Mrs. and I will be able to communicate with the outside world from home. This means that, while I may no longer have the time to post here from work, I can occasionally rant from the comfort of my home.

[although, most of the time that I have at home is/will be spent cooking, cleaning and attending various sporting -- baseball, soccer, basketball, dance -- and school events]

So, don't expect to see tons of new content daily. But, I do plan on posting more than just every now-and-then.
